Hi, I’m Pavielle👋🏼

Founder • Driver • Mechanic • Content Creator

Hello! I’m Pavielle, the proud owner of High Tech Hippie Pedicab, and I’ve been living the pedicab life since 2008—back when pedicabs had no motors, no apps, and definitely no shortcuts. Just legs, grit, and a deep love for the city.

I started as a driver, pedaling people through Austin’s streets one ride at a time. What began as a job quickly became a calling. Over the years, I learned not just how to move people from point A to point B, but how to read a crowd, tell a story, navigate nightlife, keep passengers safe, and create an experience people still talk about long after the ride ends.

Pedicabs aren’t just transportation to me—they’re rolling moments of connection.

In 2022, I took the leap into ownership after more than a decade on the road. I spent over ten years traveling with the pedicab, learning the city street by street and the business from the inside out. That chapter came to a close in September 2025—and that’s okay. Trying boldly, learning honestly, and continuing anyway is part of how I work.

Along the way, I built my skill set far beyond pedicabs.

In 2012, I was trained by the staff at K1 Speed when they expanded to Austin. Driving electric go-karts taught me precision, speed control, situational awareness, and how to move confidently in tight, high-energy environments—skills that translate directly to navigating crowds, traffic, and nightlife on a pedicab.

I also trained as a snowboarder under Chuck Hewitt, the educator who wrote the instructional framework for AASI/PSIA to help riders advance through professional ranks. Snowboarding taught me balance, edge control, reading terrain, momentum management, and how to stay calm when conditions change fast.

All of it feeds into how I drive, repair, and operate pedicabs today.

Pedicab driving isn’t just pedaling—it’s timing, awareness, control, flow, and trust. Every job I’ve had sharpened those instincts and made me a more well-rounded, confident, and capable operator.

I’ll keep dreaming. I’ll keep learning. And I’ll keep building what comes next—one ride at a time.

Mechanic Expertise

Beyond driving, I am also a mechanic. I installed upgrades and managed repairs for a fleet of 32 between 2022 and 2025, ensuring that each one is in top condition and ready to provide a safe and enjoyable ride for our customers.

I’m not just the owner and driver—I’m also the mechanic.

I maintain and repair every pedicab with a hands-on approach, using my own dedicated set of tools and years of real-world experience. I know these machines inside and out, and I source and order parts specifically tailored to the unique demands of pedicabs, not just standard bikes.

From brakes and chains to motors, batteries, and custom components, each cab is serviced with safety, performance, and longevity in mind. Because I drive what I fix, I hold every pedicab to the standard I’d expect on the road myself.

Dream It. Ride It. Let’s Go. 🌙

This business is the result of years of dreaming, pedaling, fixing, learning, and showing up—night after night, ride after ride. I believe pedicabs can be joyful, efficient, sustainable, and super fun.

If you’re looking for more than just a ride—
if you want an experience powered by passion, expertise, and real-world grit—you’re in the right place.
